Lange Nacht der Zürcher Museen

7 Sep 2019 | Johann Jacobs Museum

SOUND LECTURES 7:00 / 8:30 / 10:00 pm (à 20min)

An interactive sound installation by the ARK collective will ring out on Zurich’s longest Night of Museums. Ten rhythm machines programmed with electronic beats (rock ‘n’ roll, samba, bossa nova, rumba, etc.) take on their own, individual musical patterns in interaction with the user. These patterns tell of life along the old colonial trade and migration routes, of the “Yellow Pacific” and the “Black Atlantic”.
The installation will be presented in three Sound Lectures and will be accessible until 03.11.2019 as part of “World Exhibition”.
Our summer terrace features a World Exhibition-inspired experience: DJ with World Exhibition sounds, hearty soups from South America and Turkey, and the “Sherry Cobbler”, a drink that was very popular at the 1873 World Exhibition in Vienna.
